Will I voluntarily help the Wisconsin Dept. Of Natural Resources. Opening day(Nov.18th) of WI 9 day gun season I got a good size doe. When I went to register the carcass I was asked to donate the head so the brain could be tested for chronic wasting disease.
At the time I thought sure why not. Well I’ll tell you why not. It’s been almost a month and I have not heard a peep from DNR.
At the time of registration I was told it would take at the most 2 weeks. I figured I could wait at least that long before cooking any of the deer. I check the website daily but they still have no information.
At this point I don’t even care if it does have CWD. I’ll take my chances rather than continue to wait for another government bureaucracy to get around to me.
